The conference commenced on the morning of October 24th in the auditorium of the school. The conference was chaired by Professor Hu. During the opening ceremony, Secretary Wang warmly welcomed the domestic and international guests and wished for the successful commencement of the "2019 International Workshop on Cancer and Biomarkers". She briefly introduced the university and the academic specialties of the School, and fully acknowledged the significant achievements of the faculty and students in fields such as molecular imaging, neuro imaging, and biometric recognition and encryption. She expressed hope that the academic exchanges during the conference would ignite sparks of innovation in cancer diagnostics and treatment research and that the school's research results would better serve society, contributing significantly to building a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for humanity.

 

Professor Hu expressed deep gratitude for the support provided by various sectors to the development of life sciences at Xidian University. He highlighted the close relation of biomarkers to cancer treatment and expressed the wish to enhance cancer treatment research by leveraging the university's strengths in electronics and information science disciplines. He looked forward to the conference fostering a better understanding of the mechanisms of tumor growth and biomarker detection, thereby finding breakthroughs for clinical treatments and enhancing the academic influence of the School both domestically and internationally.
